Again this year, we will be collecting donations to help support The V Foundation for Cancer Research. The V Foundation was founded in 1993 by ESPN and the late Jim Valvano.
Jim Valvano was the legendary, head men's basketball coach for North Caroline State University, which won the NCAA Championship in 1983. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1992 and later passed in 1993.
Since the inception of The V Foundation, over $90 million have been raised toward cancer research. The V Foundation gives 100% of donations and net event proceeds to cancer research and related programs.
