Medium-Trees
This year we decided to make "Meduium-Trees". We call them "Medium" because they are too big for a mini-tree and too small for a mega-tree. These trees stand 4 feet high with 600 lights per tree. We have a 1 1/2" gray electrical conduit PVC as the trunk and 3/4" water tubing PVC as the ring for the base. We drive a tomatoe steak into the ground and put the conduit over the steak for support. The good thing about these trees is that they can be stored in one piece, without taking the lights off.
ARCHES
Each arch is made up of 7 channels with 100 lights per channel. They are put on a 10', 3/4" gray electrical PVC. The lights are wrapped around the PVC by using our homemade "spinner". We are making 12 arches this year for our display. You can see how the arches work by watching last years videos. Last year we had 4 arches with 70 lights per channel.
?-TREE
Due to some changes with the layout of our show, we will not be using our "Mega-Tree" for this coming year. Instead, I am in the process of building a different kind of Mega-Tree, which hopefully will bring more pizzaz to the show. The new tree will have about 4800 lights and stand about 9 feet tall. More details will come this fall.
